Constitution Bowl

Our Key of Liberty Class recently traveled to Olympia to compete in the Constitution Bowl with other Commonwealth Groups from Washington and Oregon.  After giving their best, LETRS came in 2nd.  Great effort to everyone!

The next morning, they toured the Washington Statehouse in Olympia.  Here is FILA (another Commonwealth) and LETRS standing on the Capitol steps at the beginning of the tour.

Mock Trial in the Temple of Justice.  They argued and decided a real case that the Washington State Supreme Court had decided.

The justices deciding on the case.

Wrapping it up!

Key of Liberty Recognition

These students were specially recognized today as they completed EVERY assignment given for both semesters of Key of Liberty, while ALSO memorizing the Declaration of Independence.  That is no easy feat.  Way to go guys!  Good Luck to all of the Key of Liberty students in the upcoming Constitution Bowl.  Bring LETRS home that trophy!  You make us so proud.

Devotionals

A typical scene during the Family Devotional while giving the pledge of allegiance.  Isn't it wonderful to see even the little ones participating?!

Final Day in BYOG with a May Pole Celebration

After a review of all the important figures and events these students had covered for the semester, Ms. Jacobson taught them all how to do a proper May Pole Dance to celebrate.  With some careful coaching, it worked!  Thank you, Ms. Jacobson for all you did to help organize the BYOG this semester.  It was loads of fun!

More from BYOG!

Thank you, Ms. Jacobson for sharing these pictures!  Here is one of our time presentations from one of our students on William Shakespeare.

The following picture is from our Brown Bag Engineering course where students each class used basic household materials to construct machines that accomplished certain missions.
